Today, let us study： ” go on “
“进行”是动词，表示从事某种活动、工作等。
The verb “进行”means to engage in a certain activity or work, etc.
多用在双音节动词前边，后边的动词表示的一定是比较正式、严肃的行为，暂时性的和日常生活中的行为一般不用 “进行”。例如:
It is usually used before a disyllabic verb denoting a formal, serious behavior. Temporary or everyday behaviors are usually not used with “进行”.For example:
由于没有下雨，今天照常进行比赛。
As there was no rain, today’s game went on as usual.
本次工作内容由我来进行汇报。
I will report this work.
