“即(jí)使(shǐ)”，连(lián)词(cí)。用(yònɡ)在(zài)第(dì)一(yī)个(ɡè)分(fēn)句(jù)里(lǐ)，第(dì)二(èr)个(ɡè)分(fēn)句(jù)里(lǐ)常(chánɡ)用(yònɡ)“也(yě)”相(xiānɡ)呼应。

The conjunction “即使”is used in the first clause, coordinating with “也“in the second clause.

一(yì)般(bān)表(biǎo)示(shì)假(jiǎ)设(shè)的(de)让(rànɡ)步(bù)关(ɡuān)系(xì)，也(yě)可(kě)以(yǐ)表(biǎo)示(shì)已(yǐ)经(jīnɡ)发(fā)生(shēnɡ)或(huò)存(cún)在(zài)的(de)事(shì)情(qínɡ)。

The structure usually indicates a hypothetical concession ,though it can also indicate something that has already happened or been in existence.

“即(jí)使(shǐ)”可(kě)以(yǐ)用(yònɡ)在(zài)第(dì)一(yī)个(ɡè)分(fēn)句(jù)的(de)主(zhǔ)语(yǔ)前(qián)，也(yě)可(kě)以(yǐ)用(yònɡ)在(zài)主(zhǔ)语(yǔ)后(hòu)，例(lì)如(rú)，

“即使“can be used either before ,or after the subject of the first clause.  For example

你(nǐ)应(yīnɡ)该(ɡāi)多(duō)回(huí)回(huí)家(jiā)看(kàn)老(lǎo)人(rén)，即(jí)使(shǐ)只(zhǐ)是(shì)跟(ɡēn)他(tā)们(men)吃(chī)吃(chī)饭(fàn)。
